In 2011 Khemiri was asked by New York Times to compose a personal playlist, the result can be found here: “How to Write a Play Using Nine Hip-Hop Songs and One Stand-Up Skit.”
Nothing comes from nothing and here are some links that show what inspired the writing of...here to watch some short movies made by art students loosely based on two of Khemiri's short stories.
Click here and then bottom right ("Lyssning") to practice your Swedish and listen to Khemiri reading his own short story "Unchanged Unending" (accompanied by Roy Ayers and Jon Brion).
And... If you feel like an experiment: use Google translate to follow Khemiri's monthly updates in English. They are called "VACHÄNDER?" in Swedish which Google translates into... "VACHÄNDER?". But it actually means "WZUP?" (sort of). Just click here. Beware the page looks all bent out of shape. But maybe that's a good thing since it will go hand in hand with the quirky translation.
Oh and since you asked. The photo on the left? Well that's just a very nervous Khemiri, hanging out with one of his literary idols. No not Nabokov. Not Duras. Not Enquist. It's Nasty Nas aka Nas Escobar aka the Hitchcock of Hiphop aka Dow Jones. Khemiri interviewed the rapper after a concert in Prague 2008 for the Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter.
